Cadillac F1 celebrates first British Grand Prix and America 250 at the (insert 2012 Future song here)

The United States' influence on Formula 1 continues to grow. Besides three races in the U.S., the 2026 season welcomed Cadillac to the grid.

Haas has been racing in Formula 1 since 2016 and is owned by American businessman Gene Haas. The Kannapolis, North Carolina-based team has embraced the United States, but Cadillac is advertising itself as "America's Team." The outfit, which is backed by Detroit-based General Motors, is relying heavily on Cadillac's legacy as an American luxury brand and even revealed its livery during the most American of holidays, the Super Bowl.

Valtteri Bottas and Sergio "Checo" Pérez are Cadillac's drivers who are attempting to make the stealthy silver and black cars compete against the likes of McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.

It's been a slow journey to be in the conversation of those esteemed teams. Ahead of the British Grand Prix, Cadillac is at the bottom of the team standings as the only group that hasn't scored a point this season.

That doesn't seem to be fazing the squad, who is boldly embracing the festivities around Silverstone while celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States. July 4, 2026 is the day of the sprint race and qualifying for the British Grand Prix and, ironically for Cadillac, the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, where the United States broke away from Great Britain.

"We have a lot of experience and resilience in this team to find the way forward," Pérez, who finished second at the 2022 British Grand Prix with Red Bull Racing, said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to the weekend and hope to be able to give our American fans another reason to celebrate the 4th of July."

Slawn x Opake collab for Cadillac F1 British Grand Prix art

While celebrating America's birthday, Cadillac showed they are aware of the significance of the United States' parent country and the historic track at Silverstone.

The F1 team started the week of the British Grand Prix with the continuation of their Off The Grid series collaborating with local artists at the different races on the calendar. For the Silverstone race, they hosted an art exhibit featuring work from Nigerian-British artist Slawn and London-based artist Opake. Slawn is known for his thoughtful abstract art that provides commentary on race and class. Opake uses his graffiti and pop art background to offer insight into mental health and pop culture.

The two artists combined forces to create Cadillac's official poster for the British Grand Prix. The piece is a mashup of parts of the F1 car and cartoon elements.

Cadillac F1 Fourth of July livery for America 250 at British Grand Prix

The biggest way Cadillac will be celebrating America's birthday (ironically) during the British Grand Prix is with their red, white and blue livery.

The team swapped the sleek silver and black for the patriotic paint job. The base is an ombré that goes from blue to white to red with red stars in a sort of sunshine design at the back. The front wing has red, white and blue stripes with white stars on the blue stripe paying homage to the American flag.

"The 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1," Dan Towriss, Cadillac F1 CEO said in a statement. "We want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion."

And Silverstone isn't the only place fans can catch a glimpse of the Cadillac livery. The car will also be on display at the Cadillac Formula 1 Team x Jim Beam Pit Stop BBQ for Essence Fest in New Orleans over the weekend.

The Sprint at Silverstone is at 7 a.m. ET and qualifying for the British Grand Prix is at 11 am ET on Saturday, July 4. Both events will air on Apple TV.
