The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) is making sure their players are ice cold. The organization unveiled new uniforms for the 2024-25 season on Thursday — and they are fresh.
The PWHL partnered with Bauer Hockey for the new uniforms, which feature bold colors with classic hockey stripes. The league worked with creative agency Flower Shop to make sure each team's brand identity was showcased in the jersey designs.
"Each jersey incorporates elements that embody the spirit of the team, all while supporting athletes on the ice with advanced materials and construction," the official release for the Minnesota Frost uniforms said. "Through a series of design sessions, unique elements such as stripe size, number style, and the crest were meticulously developed to enhance their identities. Crafted from breathable and durable fabrics, these jerseys are engineered to withstand intense physical play and offer a tailored fit for maximum mobility, comfort, and aesthetic appeal."
"So happy to see our designs for the PWHL uniforms hitting the ice," Flower Shop said on Instagram. "Creating team names and designing sports kits was a childhood dream for many of us at Flower Shop and doing it for the founding 6 teams made it even more special. Thank you to the PWHL for trusting us with the assignment and to Bauer Hockey for bringing the designs to life. Hockey never looked so good."
The replica home jerseys are on sale at the PWHL online store for $135 in adult sizes and $100 in children's sizes. The No. 31 Aerin Frankel Boston Fleet jersey was sold out hours after the jerseys went public.
"My first reaction when I saw the jersey was I just thought they were so vibrant," Frankel said in a promotional video.
The goaltender starred at Northeastern University and was the 2021 Patty Kazmaier Award winner, which is given to the best player in women's DI college hockey. She also made an impact on Team USA and, in her first season with the Fleet, had 455 saves in 18 games.
The 2024-25 PWHL season kicks off on November 30. The groundbreaking league launched in 2023 and started play in January with six East Coast teams across the United States and Canada: the Minnesota Frost, Boston Fleet, Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres.
