Equihua teamed up with the NFL for the “Heirlooms for the Devoted” collection and it’s uh-mazing.
There are cobija jackets, hoop earrings and scrunchies for fans to celebrate their teams and personal history. The San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins all got the Equihua treatment.
According to the brand, the collection “celebrates the spirit of loyal fans and the communities that rally around them. Every element of the collection is rooted in memory, reminding fans that the story begins with them.”
Equihua was founded by Brenda Equihua in Los Angeles to celebrate her Mexican heritage and encourage others to do the same. The brand’s star product is the cobija jacket, which transforms a cultural staple into a cozy, nostalgic wearable. Every Equihua product is crafted with the same intentionality of celebrating storytelling in fashion.
The collection is an extension of the NFL's work to reach its Latin fanbase. The league has implemented the "Por La Cultura" campaign to highlight Latino players and cultural tastemakers and announced that Bad Bunny will be the Super Bowl LX halftime show performer.
The designer described the collaboration as a dream come true, sharing an Instagram post of herself wearing a Raiders jacket in 2018 with the goal of working with the NFL.
“Looking back, I wouldn’t have been ready for this opportunity in 2018, not even close,” she said. “I believe in divine timing because there was still so much I needed to learn before it found me.
“By the time it did, we were ready enough. And that’s the truth, you’re never fully ready for what life throws your way.
“In many ways, these years of building felt like seasons of conditioning, like the fans who keep showing up, year after year, waiting for their team to win the Super Bowl. Their faith, their enthusiasm, their devotion—it all inspired me while creating this collection.
“Some dreams just take longer.”
