The month of April brought us a variety of music to enjoy.
In case you missed it, we covered two releases already, E.M.E's "Go Hard or Go Home" single and CRYS' "Nueva Era" album. Since those are two artists we've covered and who support our platform, it was important to jump on those when they came out.
But since then, the month has featured drops from artists large and small from Denver to London. We were especially excited for Isaiah Rashad's first song in five years. And we also got new music from At'eaze, Darren Waller, 1K Pson, Skepta and Corey Paul.
Here is the Kick The Concrete Music Report:
Isaiah Rashad — "Same Sh!t" Single
Isaiah Rashad is a underdog on TDE, especially because he's dealt with personal issues that have taken him away from music. If you can believe it, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of his powerful album, "The Sun's Tirade" and it's been five years since his last LP, "The House is Burning." He got the rap world hyped by releasing his latest single, "Same Sh!t" ahead of his new album, "It's Been Awful." The new track SLAPS and effortlessly blends Rashad's Tennessee roots a la a Three 6 Mafia-inspired beat and his DMX inspiration via a choppy flow, the same flow that Skepta used on "Praise The Lord." Not to mention the contrast of his gritty voice against the haunting opera vocals in the background. We've had this one on repeat.
At'eaze — "Air It Out" Single
At'eaze has always had a spiritual side to his music, but he's entering a new era of his artistry leaning harder into the Christian Hip-Hop space. His bouncy new single, "Air It Out," is grounded by a tinge of piano a la any great Zaytoven beat. He declares his love for Jesus Christ and calls for accountability. He says we should spray prayers onto our communities instead of bullets. One standout line is, "Make a demon feel like James Harden how they step back."
Darren Waller — "Baron Davis" Single
Darren Waller has established himself as a football star, but he knows a thing or two about basketball, too. His latest single pays tribute to NBA star Baron Davis and it goes hard. Waller offers a fierce delivery and fast flow as he spits about overcoming the odds and being better than the haters. It's a much more rappity-rap song than his previous release, the soulful "In The Valley" and we love to see him continue to showcase all sides of his artistry.
1K Pson — "Proud Dad" Single
1K Pson released the trap-infused single "Proud Dad" about his commitment to his faith and resting in alignment with the Most High. On the song, he reflects on how turning to God changed his life. His passion to spread the good news of salvation is evident as he raps, "Drop hits like a fighter/Still undefeated, my demons retired/I already beat 'em, we're holding the title/I'm screaming 'Jesus' until they revive us." The song is very sonically relevant with a mix of a Biblical reference to the prophet Jeremiah and a pop culture nod to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. This is definitely one that has layers to it and is worth multiple listens.
Skepta — "Más Tiempo Vol. 2" EP
We all know and love Skepta as a Godfather of Grime. But did you know that he started his music journey as a deejay? While supposedly putting the finishing touches on his next album, he's been making a splash across the world via his Más Tiempo house imprint. He released a cool lil three-track EP. It's quite infectious.
Corey Paul — "Psalm 67"
6-7! 6-7! Okay, no, this song is actually something worth taking seriously. Corey Paul continues the Rap The Bible series with his interpretation of Psalm 67. The soundscape is anchored by a gospel choir and smooth drums. The song lists the names of God shown throughout the Bible and draws the listener into praise for the Lord's goodness.
