Lewis Hamilton stays winning.
After nabbing his record-breaking ninth victory at the British Grand Prix earlier this month, the seven-time Formula 1 champion is the latest brand ambassador for Dior, Hamilton and the French fashion house announced on Monday. He worked with Kim Jones, Dior's men's artistic director, to create a collection that features colorful jackets, oversized silhouettes, geometric prints and a touch of tweed.
The winter collection is due out October 17, per WWD. It is inspired by Hamilton's love for the outdoors, including snowboarding and skiing, and emphasizes sustainability.
"A shared love of nature, a desire to celebrate Africa and an interest in the artisanal processes and techniques that unite craftspeople in Africa with the savoir-faire of the ateliers…" is what drove the vision of the collection, Jones said in a statement on Instagram.
"Been working on this one for a while, can’t wait to show more," Hamilton said on X.
In January, Hamilton attended Dior's Winter 24 show and has worn the brand throughout the F1 season, which is his last with Mercedes before he joins Ferrari next year. Some standout looks include media day at the British Grand Prix where he wore a blue flowered jacket and the GQ Global Creativity Awards in April where he donned a look from the Fall 24 Menswear line featuring a pinstriped overcoat bedazzled at the waist.
Hamilton cut his chops in fashion via multiple collaborations with Tommy Hilfiger starting in 2018. He also has his +44 brand where he has done collaborations with Takashi Murakami, NASA and Soldier.
In May, Dior revealed a collaboration with Italian streetwear brand Stone Island. The Fall 24 collection combines Stone Island's workwear aesthetic with luxury touches, including pearls on a statement jacket.
