There was much anticipation around the 2025 WNBA Draft. UCONN star Paige Bueckers capped off her historic college career with a national championship and was the No. 1 overall pick to the Dallas Wings, as expected. She also left no crumbs with her fashion game on the night, as expected.
Bueckers was one of many stars who stunted in Coach on the orange carpet. Just prior to the draft, the luxury brand announced a multiyear partnership with the league and they made sure their presence was known throughout the night.
A certain NBA star offered his gifts to Georgia Amoore for her big moment and Aziaha James looked like a rockstar.
Here is the WNBA Draft Drip Check:
Paige Bueckers Does Double Duty in Coach and Louis Vuitton
Paige Bueckers followed Rickea Jackson’s lead and wore not one, but two outfits. With the help of her stylist, Brittany Hampton, the No. 1 overall pick turned heads on the orange carpet in a sparkly three-piece suit from Coach with wide leg trousers, an oversized blazer and even bigger bag. She changed into a slick black Louis Vuitton suit with a plunging bedazzled neckline for her big moment.
Aziaha James Brings Rockstar Energy
Aziaha James made a major statement. Her stylist, Sydney Bordonaro, put her in an R13 jacket that had a dash of punk with safety pins and chains. The ruffle socks and pearls on her necklace brought a bit of softness, but the Doc Martens loafers were fierce and the silver shades from Gentle Monster really boosted everything out of this world.
"Just a little fancy look, out of the box," James told Hana Kuma while she was getting ready.
Georgia Amoore Impresses in Russell Westbrook's Honor The Gift
Georgia Amoore was one-of-one. NBA star Russell Westbrook designed a custom jacket and skirt set via his brand, Honor The Gift. The cut was immaculate, the flower pattern was just enough edgy and the chunky loafers helped set this look apart.
"I adore it," Amoore told GQ Sports on the orange carpet. "I gave him the shape I wanted and he did the fabric, did the details. So I'm super blessed to be able to work with him and I think it's very me."
Honor The Gift commemorated the moment with a special edition T-shirt that features a basketball going through a hoop and the words "Honor Women." A portion of the proceeds go to Play Like a Girl, an organization that empowers girls in the classroom and in their sports.
Sonia Citron was More than Business in Coach
Sonia Citron looked sharp in a wool blazer and skirt set from Coach, a bold move. She carried a glitzy Coach purse and mixed and matched silver and gold jewelry. The secret sauce was a pair of white socks to add some flair.
"The white socks, I kind of added last second, or we added last second with Coach," the Notre Dame guard told the WNBA, "just to kind of make it pop more and to make it less business-y and make it more fun."
Kiki Iriafen Stuns Paying Tribute to Nigerian Heritage
Kiki Iriafen looked like a Disney princess in a golden gown. Nigerian designer Nneka C. Alexander crafted the beautiful dress to pay homage to the USC star’s heritage. Iriafen completed the look with orange beaded jewelry and a gold patent leather Mini Tabby from the Coach archives.
"It was really important to me to be on this big stage, but also showcase my culture," Iriafen told Essence on the orange carpet.
"So overwhelmed," Alexander wrote in her Instagram stories of working on her first WNBA Draft look. "The only words I can utter right now are: 'Thank you, God! None of this would be possible without You, God!'"
